How Do I Make a Reservation?
Please click on the BOOK NOW here or anywhere on our site. You can then access our real time availability program and reserve your cabin safely and securely online at any time 24/7. When you make a reservation with us, we immediately give you our home phone number. If we cannot answer our home phone (for example we are working at the cabins or in an area with no cell service), the calls forward to Mike’s cell. An 800 number will appear once you have selected dates that are available in our booking engine. This answering service can fill out the reservation form for you if you are encountering any difficulties, but please direct all questions to us so we may personally answer them for you.

We frequently clean all 5 cabins on Fridays and Sundays, so we do take Saturdays as our day “off” from cleaning at the cabins, hence no Saturday arrivals/departures. We still answer emails on Saturday and do lots of laundry at home to prepare for Sunday! We are also on call on Saturdays, as we are 365 days per year for our guests.
Why should I come to Hot Springs Log Cabins?
We have hot tubs, gas grills, & fireplaces, plus the little touches like spices and acrylic hot tub glasses. Ever gone to a cabin and found yourself drinking that special bottle of wine out of coffee cups after you destroyed the cork with your Swiss Army knife? At Hot Springs Log Cabins you’ll find both wine and champagne glasses and two corkscrews – plus the appropriate place to recycle your bottles.
We welcome pets and provide a pooch pail of toys as well as food and water bowls. We donate a portion of your pet fee to the local spay and neuter program every time you bring your pet to Hot Springs Log Cabins. This goes a long way towards improving the welfare of both animals and people in our community. We are very proud to be helping local animals in this manner.
We work very hard to ensure that your cabin is spotlessly clean with all amenities in good working order. If you are not bringing a pet, you will only know it’s a pet friendly cabin by seeing the pooch pail of toys.
We have also taken great care to provide a “concierge book” in each cabin full of local menus, hiking trails, and suggestions for activities as well as detailed instructions for all our amenities.
We invite you to look around at all other available lodging in our area. We think you will find that we offer the best value for your money, particularly if you book one of our Midweek Specials, Honeymoon Packages, or Week Stays. You can find cheaper lodging further out or with fewer amenities (gas grills, washer/dyers, and hot tubs cost a lot to maintain and operate), but you will also find many who charge as much or more and offer you significantly less. You be the judge.
Our cabins are very private from one another – 5 cabins on 11 wooded acres. Our cabins are not side by side or face to face or stacked upon one another as you so often find. The cabins are directly off the paved road – 6 miles south of town so you can eat out or visit The Hot Springs Spa if you like, but enjoy the rural beauty of the mountains when you come back. Hiking trails are all around us with Max Patch being a highlight of nearly everyone’s stay. Rafting and horseback riding opportunities exist, as does a drive into Asheville and The Biltmore. Then again, some of our guests arrive with all their groceries and never leave their cabin. It’s your choice.
What are Amy and Mike’s biggest challenges as hosts?
Getting our guests to READ their confirmation and make use of all the information (including website) to PLAN AHEAD for a wonderful vacation! We send everyone a confirmation with PLEASE PRINT in the subject line (and follow that up with a phone call to verify the confirmation was received). The confirmation email has detailed driving directions, check-in procedures, check-in/out times, suggestions for gas & groceries, GPS & cell service cautions, detailed payment schedule, and a link to our Amenities/What To Pack page that we urge guests to read. The vast majority of our guests are thrilled with their stay and make plans to return – we would like this to be 100%!!! Our return guests have been impressed with all our 2017 updates, but there has been a disturbing uptick of first-time guests arriving without their confirmation or upset because they were expecting daily maid service, new towels daily, morning coffee, manicured grass, the hot tub to go over 104, the futon to fold out for additional guests, or even dog food to be provided! Amy has extensively updated the Amenities/What To Pack page to lay out in explicit detail what to expect and what to pack as we strive for 100% happy guests! We want all surprises to be good ones!
We want happy guests and strive to provide you with all the information you need to decide if our cabins are right for you, and if so, plan a fantastic time in the mountains and bring along everything you need!!! Please note that we offer independent cabins/vacation rentals; we are not a hotel or resort. If the coffee pot breaks or you lock yourself out, please call/email us and we will take care of you right away! But no one enjoys panicked late night phone calls “looking for the front desk to check in” or even expecting us to be in another state!!! Who wouldn’t enjoy Hot Springs Log Cabins?
If you are often unhappy or dissatisfied, please book your stay elsewhere! We want our guests to have a wonderful time at our cabins and make plans to return. We do everything in our power to provide you with a clean cabin full of amenities as described and pictured on this website – but being happy and enjoying your stay is up to you!!! We have written every word of this website, just as we designed every inch of our cabins. If you appreciate the attention to detail you see on our website, please be assured that the same attention to detail will be found in the cabins themselves. We like happy guests!!!
We are not for everybody as our cabins are set up to be self-sufficient lodging in a rural area. Some examples of people for whom our cabins are not appropriate:
- If you cannot exist without your phone, we may be too rural. (Most people really enjoy the chance to “unplug”!)
- If seeing wild turkey and deer outside your cabin or hearing a raccoon scares you.
- If hearing a hound dog or a friendly rooster would annoy you, we may be too country.
- If you prefer B&B style lodging with daily maid service, & talking to your hosts every day. (We respect your privacy so will not disturb you during your stay.)
- If your health requires you be within a few miles of a medical facility.
