The Meadow – We have a natural mountain meadow that all of our guests are welcome to come enjoy with a glass of wine or perhaps a frisbee. Please expect taller grass & wildflowers in the meadow during the spring/summer – you will be rewarded with birds and butterflies – and often turkeys and deer!
Queen bed Serta mattress with plush memory foam topper encased in a hypo-allergenic envelope with a duvet and colorful patchwork quilt on top. No feathers or down in the bedding!
Please note that sitting area futon couch does NOT fold out for additional sleeping. We are for 2 adults max occupancy.
Full kitchen with pots, pans, bowls, colander, spices, dishes, dish soap, paper towels, aluminum foil, cooking spray, microwave, stove, fridge w/freezer, toaster
12 cup Coffee maker with filters
Corkscrews, wine glasses, champagne glasses, and acrylic hot tub glasses!
Gas grill – propane provided so no need for gas or charcoal!
Washer and dryer – The washer and dryer are compact units with a very small capacity – roughly two pairs of pants. They are there if you find you need to wash some items during your stay, but please do not plan to do large volumes of laundry as they are easily overwhelmed! Dryer sheets are provided.
Hot tub and white cedar rocking loveseat & picnic table on covered porch. We ensure that the hot tub is clean and ready for you as we know that is a big attraction for our guests! 104 degrees is highest possible temp on our hot tubs as dictated by federal consumer protection law in 1980.
Shared phone at The Pumphouse for making free outgoing calls, so no ringing phone in your cabin to bother you! 828-622-9351
Most cell phones can get some service at the cabins, and can do texts (and emails too if you have it as an app on your phone/tablet.) The tower in Hot Springs is US Cellular, so AT&T and T-Mobile phones will likely have no service.
No bonfires, campfires, firepits, etc. allowed on the premises. The risk of a forest fire is too high.
No firearms of any kind are allowed to be discharged on the property.
Absolutely no smoking inside please! Ashtray for smoking outside on the porch only.
What Should You Bring?
Your Detailed Confirmation – We will email you with our address & driving directions, detailed check-in procedures, & complete payment details. You are responsible to read/print/save this confirmation and take advantage of all the information we share with you to plan a fantastic getaway in the mountains!
We want happy guests!!! We strive to provide you with tons of information & photos so that you can determine if our cozy log cabins for two meet your needs.
Groceries – Stock up before you arrive as the small stores in and around Hot Springs have a limited selection of goods. Don’t forget coffee, condiments, and burgers or steaks for the grill. Also bring whatever adult beverages you enjoy as you can only purchase beer and wine in Hot Springs.
Gasoline – Again, fill up on the way to your cabin. Hours can be limited in Hot Springs.
Sunscreen/Bug Spray for yourselves.
Flea/tick protection for your pets. They may be exposed to more insects out in nature here than they normally encounter in their suburban life. The cabins themselves are designed without carpet or upholstery such that they cannot host such pests, but we have no control over the outdoors.
Personal toiletries – (Shower soap provided.) An iron is in the cabin but there is no ironing board so press anything needed prior to arrival. (Towel on the counter works fine for touch-ups.) Or just be causal – no one in Hot Springs will care!
Specialty kitchen gadgets – Please bring any specialty kitchen items such as: blender, mixer, crockpot, deep fryer, etc. We keep our kitchens stocked with the basics plus cutting boards, knives, cheese graters, etc.
Additional linens – We provide 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 washcloths per cabin. You are welcome to freshen them in the dryer (dryer sheets provided). We make the bed with clean sheets and have a spare set in the cabin. If you would like additional linens, please bring them. We clean thoroughly before and after your stay, but do not provide daily maid service.
A Positive Attitude & Realistic Expectations!!! – This is very important! Please make a reservation with us if you would like to stay in a private rustic log cabin vacation rental in a rural wooded setting in the mountains. We do everything humanly possible to ensure that your cabin is clean with all advertised amenities in good working order for you. If a coffee pot or similar breaks, we usually have a replacement on hand – just let us know so that we may fix it for you. We strive to offer nicer/more amenities than any other cabin rentals of our size/price range. In 2017, we upgraded the cabin kitchens, baths, fireplaces, TV’s, & HVAC systems. Amy & Mike personally take care of the cabins & sincerely want our guests to be enchanted & delighted by your stay!!!
Want flowers in your cabin? Shady Side Florist: 828-649-3343 is located in Marshall, but they are happy to deliver flowers to the cabins. (Just let us know that they will be delivering to your cabin.)
